Title companies must comply with new FinCEN regulations starting March 1, 2026, which require expanded reporting on non-financed residential real estate transactions involving legal entities. Overview of FinCEN Regulations The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has implemented new rules that significantly impact title companies, particularly regarding their role in preventing money laundering and other financial crimes. These regulations require title companies to collect and report specific information about buyers involved in non-financed residential property transactions where the purchaser is a legal entity (such as a corporation, LLC, or trust).
